About Us

dpol sur l'eau

Our Vision

Cleaner water, everywhere, all the time

Our Mission

To develop simple, effective, and accessible solutions to fight pollution in harbours and coastal waters.

For the past 4 years, we’ve been developing and manufacturing the DPOL®—a reflection of our philosophy: think globally, act locally! This low-tech, autonomous, and robust robot continuously collects floating waste and hydrocarbons. Made in our workshop in the Var region (France), it embodies our commitment to cleaner ports and a preserved sea.

Think of street sweepers. Every city uses them to clean sidewalks and gutters. So why not the same for our harbours? Cleaning robots should become the norm along our coastlines. Because plastic pollution is more insidious than ever: invisible, persistent, and carrying chemical pollutants that contaminate the entire food chain.

The Values That Drive Us Every Day

Expertise

With several hundred thousand nautical miles sailed, our team knows the ocean and how it works.

We continue to grow through training in leading centers such as CEDRE® and through collaborations with recognized scientists.

Efficiency

The ocean is vast, and pollution spreads quickly.
To act efficiently, we focus our efforts on coastal areas and harbours—where pollution naturally concentrates.

Our flagship product, the DPOL®, can individually collect several tons of waste per year in these areas.

Quality

Most of our clients face pollution that affects their activity without being the source of it.

That’s why our services and products are designed to match this reality, minimizing both human and financial deployment costs.

Responsiveness

We are fully aware of the urgency and severity that some situations may involve.

That’s why we ensure a level of responsiveness that matches the stakes—capable of shipping our equipment quickly, anywhere in the world.

Our Story

EKKOPOL is founded by Eric and Geoffroy

We begin by offering services with a multi-purpose boat to tackle floating pollution and respond to emergency situations in ports.

At the same time, after 9 years of development and 7 prototypes, the ingenious low-tech DPOL® system is launched at the Francqueville shipyard. We start using it in our cleanup missions.

2020
Acquisition of the DPOL® brand

We acquire the DPOL® trademark and the official design plans of the device.

2021
Acceleration and consolidation

A new crew member joins us: Thomas. With his arrival, the deployment of DPOL® accelerates along the Mediterranean coast. We strengthen our supply chain through trusted local partners.

2022
International expansion

After sailing around the world, Emilien joins the DPOL® adventure and helps expand our activities internationally.

2023
100 DPOL® units, two new models launched

We pass the symbolic milestone of 100 operational DPOL® units. Ports in Italy, Spain, Greece, and Germany begin adopting DPOL®.

At the same time, we develop two new DPOL® versions: the HD and the Max—allowing us to respond to new use cases, from ponds to industrial ports.

We also design a mobile davit system, the DPOL® Lifter, for ports equipped with multiple units.

2024
200 DPOL®, 18 countries, a global benchmark

Over 200 DPOL® units are now collecting waste in 18 countries. Our distribution network grows stronger with new contracts and expands from Europe to Australia.

Since day one : A rock-solid reputation. DPOL® remains the only cleanup system unanimously endorsed by port authorities.
